David Stokes BA, HND, PGCE, ANMSM [ ]

David has been associated with the musical life of St Anne's since 2004 when he was invited by Geoff to join the choir for their tour to the Czech Republic. Before joining St Anne's, David was involved with church music as Assistant Organist of St James West Derby, then Organist of St Paul, Stoneycroft, studying organ with ex St Anne's Organist, Colin Porter at Mossley Hill Parish Church, and then with Ian Wells at Liverpool Cathedral.

As well as these posts, David was Organ Scholar of Lancaster Priory studying organ with Ian Pattinson and Ian Hare while studying music at Lancaster University. He then transferred his studies to Liverpool Hope University where he became Senior Organ Scholar and received organ lessons from Timothy Noon at Liverpool Metropolitan Cathedral where David then became a Countertenor Lay Clerk for ten years.

After completing his studies at Liverpool Hope University, David became Teacher of Music at St Francis Xavier's College where he is now the Coordinator of Music.

David is also an accomplished composer and has recently published some organ pieces for Church Organ World, which he is now a regular contributor for the publishing firm.

David is married to Eve who has been associated with St Anne's and the choir for all her life and they have two children, Ella and Jacob. Ella has recently joined the choir, carrying on the family musical tradition.
